TEMPORARY SKILLED SHORTAGE (482) VISA

TSS visas allow skilled workers to work in Australia for 2 or 4 years under the sponsorship of an Australian employer. The worker can bring family members to live, work and study in Australia.

General Requirements:

Occupation must be on the short-term skilled occupations list (STSOL) for 2-year visa; or on the Medium or Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or Regional Occupation List (ROL) for a 4-year visa
At least 2 years’ full time relevant work experience in the nominated occupation or relevant field
Some occupations require skills assessment issued by relevant assessing authority
English language ability
Meet the health requirement
Meet the character requirement
Nomination by sponsor Australian employer

AIM assists in preparing the employer’s sponsorship and the TSS nomination and visa application.

EMPLOYER NOMINATION SCHEME (186) VISA

ENS is a permanent visa for workers who are nominated by an Australian employer. The worker can bring family members to live, work and study in Australia. They can apply for Medicare and may be eligible to apply for Australian citizenship after residing in Australia for 4 years. This visa has a Temporary Residence Transition Stream which is the permanent residency pathway for 457/482 visa holders, a Direct Entry Stream, and a Labour Agreement Stream for nominator-employer who is a party to a Labour Agreement.

General Requirements:

Temporary Resident Transition (TRT) Stream

Less than 45 years of age
Generally must have worked full time on a 457 or 482 visa with sponsor-employer for at least 3 years
If required for your occupation, must have a licence, registration or membership with a professional body
English language ability

Direct Entry Stream

Less than 45 years of age
Occupation on the list of eligible skilled occupations
Skills assessment from assessing authority

Nomination by an Australian employer

AIM assists in preparing the ENS nomination and visa application.

SKILLED EMPLOYER SPONSORED REGIONAL (494) VISA

This is a 5-year temporary visa for skilled workers, and requires sponsorship of regional employers.
The worker can bring family members to live, work and study in a designated regional area of Australia. After 3 years on 494 visa, they can apply for a permanent resident (subclass 191) visa.

General Requirements:

Less than 45 years of age
Occupation must be on the relevant skilled occupations list
At least 3 years’ full time relevant work experience in the nominated occupation
Skills assessment issued by relevant assessing authority
English language ability

AIM assists in preparing the SESR nomination and visa application.

PERMANENT RESIDENCE (SKILLED REGIONAL) (191) VISA

This visa will not commence until 16 November 2022.

This is a permanent visa for people who have lived, worked and studied in a designated regional area of Australia on an eligible (494 and 491) visa.

Hold an eligible visa
At least 3 years’ residence in a designated regional area of Australia
Meet the Taxable Income threshold for at least 3 years while holding an eligible visa
