As part of Australia’s economic recovery program, the Department of Home Affairs released in September 2020 the Priority Migration Skilled Occupations List (PMSOL), a list of occupations in demand to fill the critical skills needed in Australia.
Employer sponsored nomination and visa applications with occupations on the PMSOL are given priority processing by the Department.
The Australian Government and the National Skills Commission continue to monitor the impact of Covid-19 on the country’s labour market and assess its needs for different skills. Since the PMSOL’s first release, it has been amended several times and currently includes 44 occupations. The list is temporary and subject to change anytime.
